Our sweet Nelda Louise (Sly) Dilbeck passed away peacefully on July 25, while vacationing in Reno, NV. She is survived by children Edwin Dilbeck (Debbie) of Ogden, UT, Janette Schmitt (Paul) of Vista, CA, and John Dilbeck (Pam) of San Diego, 14 grandkids, 11 great grandkids, many nieces, nephews, cousins and sister-in-law Barbara Weaver (Ronny) of Springdale, AR. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 61 years Vernon, daughter Edwina Mince, and brothers Clint, Glen, and Bill Sly. Nelda was born January 30th, 1934 in Rogers, AR to Sina and Clinton Sly, both deceased. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1952. She married Vernon Dilbeck on April 2, 1954, and lived in Rogers until 1959 when they moved to Escondido, CA. She began working at SW Bell in Rogers and continued her career with the telephone company until she retired from AT&T in 1985. She volunteered for many organizations, doing clowning, sewing blankets, clothes and toy drives, visiting nursing homes, and also helped many neighbors, friends, family, and strangers. Nelda said, "I believe my purpose in life is to feel good about myself and help others as much as possible so they feel good about themselves." She attended Creative Center for Spiritual Living. Nelda's beautiful soul will be missed by many but her spirit will live on forever! Her service is scheduled for October 1, 2016, 11:00am at Benton County Memorial Park, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers, AR 72756.
