Patricia "Pat" Wanslow, 77, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born June 21, 1947, to Herbert and Eileen Casey of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She married her late husband, Robert "Bob" Wanslow, on May 24, 1974, and they raised four beautiful children together: Scott Rhodes, of St. Petersburg, Florida; Kathleen Zambon, of San Diego, California, Eleanor Hughes, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Patrick Casey, of Oakdale, Connecticut. Together, they lived with their family all over the world, from Arkansas all the way to the Marshall Islands.

Pat spent many years turning her love of books into a career, working as a librarian in multiple schools, towns, and public libraries. She was a valued parishioner at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ft. Smith, Kwajalein Catholic Church in Kwajalein, RMI, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. She loved chatting with friends over coffee and finding unique gifts to send her children and grandchildren. She never knew a stranger, and she always had a kind word for a new mom at the grocery store with her baby or the barista at Starbucks. She loved mysteries, British television, and a comfy nightgown. She had a natural ability to calm a fussy baby, to find a treasure at a yard sale and to land a well-timed joke. No one enjoyed family dinners more than Pat, whether it was a big pot of her chicken and dumplings shared by many or a Grandma-cheese sandwich with her grandsons. Her wit, generous spirit, loving embrace, and warm conversations will be dearly missed.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and her sister Mary Shannon Casey.  She is survived by her four children; Scott and wife Jennifer Rhodes, Kathleen and husband Alex Zambon, Eleanor and husband John Hughes, and Patrick and wife Brittany Casey; seven grandchildren; Zack and Maya Zambon, Isaac and Benjamin Hughes, and Mary Ella, Gloria, and Finnegan Casey; two brothers; John and Bill Casey of Ft. Smith; and one niece, Jane Casey of Portland, Oregon.

A memorial service will be scheduled at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to your local public library, your local NPR station, or Arkansas PBS (myarkansaspbs.org). Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas.
