Paula R. "Dolly" Lyon, 72, of Rogers, AR passed away on November 3, 2023, surrounded by her family at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, AR. She was born on September 30, 1951, in Memphis, TN to parents Charles and Cecelia Ross.

Dolly grew up in West Memphis, AR and graduated from West Memphis High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Memphis State University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She later earned a graduate degree from Arkansas State University. Until her retirement in 2017, Dolly worked for the city of Rogers as an assistant treasurer. She also taught accounting and business law in high school for 13 years prior to that.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Burris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Schulthess. She is survived by her sons Greg Cordell (Amber) of Springdale and Brad Cordell (Carol) of Fayetteville, along with five grandchildren – Austin and Hollin Cordell; and Samuel, Caroline, and Dillon Cordell.

Dolly was a lifetime donor to Lifeblood and Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, donating over 50 gallons of blood throughout her life. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. After retirement, Dolly began a side project making wreaths to sell at craft fairs and to friends. She enjoyed her summers on Beaver Lake, and she loved to cook. Dolly was an avid Old English Sheepdog lover and rescuer, and she enjoyed the love of many sheepdogs over the years.

Visitation and Service will both take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home; 3800 W Walnut Street, Rogers, AR. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. and service at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale or Humane Society of the Ozarks.
