IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Roy
Norris
September 19, 1944 – December 16, 2021
Roy 77, of Rogers, AR died on December 16, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family, his pets, and the things that brought him joy.
Roy was born on September 19, 1944, in Roswell, New Mexico. Soon after his family moved to CA. Roy was preceded in death his parents, Harvey Richard Norris and Doris Pearl Fairbanks, née White; an infant son Timothy Paul and three brothers, Wendell, Ray and Chuck Norris.
Survivors include his wife Carol, 3 sons, Rick (Chasity) Ozark, AR, Dan (Frankie) Clarksville, AR, Aaron (Gerri) Rogers, AR and daughter Heidi (Andy) of Brea CA. His 14 grandchildren were a special joy to him: Bailey Pena, Olivia Pena, Gabie Pena, Grant Pena, Aaron Norris II, Jack Norris, Taylor Norris, Luke Norris, Chelsea Norris, Cameron Norris, Brooke Norris, Christopher Norris, Jordan Norris, and Shelby Norris.
Roy's interests included working on cars and he was a good mechanic. His early years living on a dairy farm helped to persuade him to join Future Farmers of America while in high school. In later years he became disenchanted over factory farming and all forms of animal abuse and exploitation. He deplored hunting. He took delight in feeding the animals that came onto our decks, which included, raccoons, squirrels and birds. He helped his wife care for feral cats that found their way to the home and ultimately his heart. Roy was a kind and gentle soul.
Roy was a resident of Los Angeles County for 61 years, where he still considered to be his home. He moved with his wife Carol to Rogers AR in 2005. He was employed with a flooring manufacturer in Los Angeles for 30 years until he retired in 1999 following a series of health issues. Roy was quiet and unassuming. He didn't reach out for friends. He claimed his best friend was his wife. He was happiest at home and surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Roy will be sorely missed.
"AND I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOMEDAY IN THE CLOUDS"
