Obituary

Robert Lee Banks, Jr., 51, of Fayetteville, AR, formerly of Brinkley, passed away on Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, AR. Robert Lee Banks, Jr. was born on January 10, 1964 in St. Louis, MO to Robert Lee Banks, Sr. and Elizabeth Draper. He attended school in both Moro, AR and Marianna, AR. He completed his education and received career training through Jobs Corp. From childhood, Robert attended the Moro Temple Church of God in Christ in Moro, AR. Robert was once employed with A&J Fiberglass in Brinkley, AR and Superior Industries in Fayetteville, AR. He also formerly worked as a farmer, as a brick mason, and as a commercial truck driver. He loved traveling, playing sports, riding his motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Antonnise Palmer (who died in infancy), his father, Robert Lee Banks, Sr., and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Julie Banks of Fayetteville, AR; two sons: Robert Lee Banks III of Brinkley, AR and Stephen Vinson of Jonesboro, AR; three daughters: Crystal James and Lakeshia Banks, both of Brinkley, AR, and Santres Singletary of St. Mary, MD; five stepsons: Samuel Duru of Fayetteville, AR, Ikechi Duru of Little Rock, AR, Hakeem Tyson of Brinkley, AR, Marsall Rhys and Mark Rhys, both of Little Rock, AR; and one stepdaughter: Shaquita Rhys of Brinkley, AR; his mother, Elizabeth "Cookie" Draper Terry of Holly Grove, AR; his stepfather, Frank Terry of Moro, AR; four brothers: Curtis (Angela) Draper of Monroe, AR, Johnny (Betty) Palmer, Brian Palmer, and Marvin Watson (Crystal London Neal), all of Fayetteville, AR; four sisters: Joann (Kevin) Fleming of Fayetteville, AR, Yolanda (Mike) Carrol of Bentonville, AR, Peggy LaCheryl Joseph of Fort Smith, AR, and Veronica Watson of Moro, AR; nine grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anointed Temple Church of God in Christ, 500 West Broadmoor Drive, Brinkley, AR, Elder Troy Whitman, Pastor & Officiant. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 West Walnut Street, Rodgers, AR, (479) 636-2412.
