Heckerson

Roger Charles Heckerson, 76, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away, Thursday, January 1, 2026, doing what he loved, riding his bicycle in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born June 6, 1949, in Holton, Kansas to Charles Heckerson and Agnes (Stuber) Heckerson. After graduating from Holton High School, Roger went on to graduate with an accounting degree from Kansas State University, and he spent the majority of his career as an accountant for The State of Kansas.
He married his wife, Pamela, on October 6, 1979, in Ottawa, Kansas. They spent over three decades raising their family in Roger's hometown of Holton before moving to their retirement home in Northwest Arkansas in 2016.
Roger was a lover of all things fun. He enjoyed cycling, waterskiing and travelling with Pam. He loved being the ultimate partner in crime with any one of his five grandchildren, cheering on his K-State Wildcats and chatting up the nearest stranger.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; sons: Nicholas (Katelyn) Heckerson of Glen Carbon, Illinois and Nathan (Sadie) Heckerson of Prairie Village, Kansas; two sisters: Maurine (Richard) Sweeney of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Diane (Dennis) Hatfield of The Villages, Florida and five grandchildren: Maddison, Lucas and Joshua Heckerson (Nick/Katelyn) and Colin and Nora Heckerson (Nate/Sadie).
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at The First United Methodist Church, 1401 W. 4th Street, Holton, Kansas. The family request donations be made to The American Diabetes Association
Cremation arrangments are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Rogers, Arkansas.
