IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sammy Lee
Herrington
August 13, 2022
Sammy Lee Herrington
July 9th, 1953 - August 13th, 2022
A lifelong resident of Rogers, Arkansas, Sam was the embodiment of hard work and a life well lived. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of family and friends that loved him very much. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone willing to listen. Sam was a big man with a big personality and an even bigger heart. His handiwork can be seen throughout Northwest Arkansas and across the country as he was a concrete finisher for his entire adult life. There is nothing easy about concrete work and likewise, there was nothing easy about Sam. Sam was an amazing human being that overcame adversity over and over again. He had some hard times but always got back up and back in the saddle. He always said that "life is all about what you put into it. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen."
Sam loved to go camping, especially in the mountains of
Colorado. His favorite place in the world was the front porch of the Silver Plume General Store in Pitkin,
Colorado. He has made the annual Colorado camping trip over thirty times. He has done everything from driving and operating a trash truck to operating a merry-go-round at the Pinnacle Mall. Sam was also a self-proclaimed professional do-it-yourselfer that could build anything that came to mind.
Born to James L Herrington and Betty J Herrington on July 9th 1953 in Rogers, Arkansas, he is survived by his wife Tawny Donell-Herrington of Hiwassee, AR, siblings
Nicky Herrington of Rogers, AR, Kim Herrington of
Norman, OK, Jayne Waire of Rogers, AR, two sons, Adam
Herrington of Anderson, MO, Shawn Herrington (Kelsi) of Pea Ridge, AR, four nieces, one nephew, and two grandchildren who were the light of his life. Sam was a good father, a loving husband, a proud Papa, and a true friend to countless people.
He was greatly loved and will be deeply and forever missed by us all.
