Sherry LaVonne
Hinojosa
Oct 5, 1963 — Oct 20, 2026
Rogers, Arkansas
Sherry LaVonne Hinojosa of Rogers, Arkansas sadly passed away on October 20, 2026, in Rogers at the age of 63. She was born on October 5, 1963, in Canyonville, Oregon.
One of the great love stories of her life began when she met her husband, Carlos, in the eighth grade in California. When Sherry moved to Oregon in the ninth grade, Carlos got on a bus and followed her. At eighteen years old, the two were married, and soon after, they welcomed their first child when she was nineteen. They just celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage together. In 2013, they moved to Arkansas to be closer to family, a decision that reflected how important family always was to her.
After moving to Arkansas, Sherry held a position with Marshalltown in Fayetteville for over six years. In her spare time, she was incredibly crafty and found joy in creating with her hands. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, watercolor painting, and diamond art. She was an avid reader and always had a book nearby. She also loved watching murder mysteries and documentaries. Around the holidays, family and friends especially looked forward to her tamales, which became a cherished tradition and a special expression of her love.
Sherry will be remembered as an incredibly kind and generous woman with a big heart for others. People who met her were often drawn to her right away, and she had a way of making others feel welcome and loved. Above all else, she loved her family deeply, and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart.
Sherry is survived by: loving husband, Carlos Hinojosa; son, Josh Hinojosa (Summer); daughter, Melissa DeVlaeminck (Dusty); brothers, Bruce Baker and David Brown Jr.; sister, April Fernandes (Chris); and parents, Evelyn Brown and Dave Brown Sr. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Remi Hinojosa, Keegan Hinojosa, and Madison DeVlaeminck.
