Shirley Ann Heiligenthal, 97, of Rogers, Arkansas, formerly of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Rogers on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Last Rites were administered, bringing comfort to Shirley and her family in her final moments. Born April 12, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Arthur and Marie Thate, Shirley grew up in Burlington and was a proud graduate of Burlington High School. On February 27, 1954, she married Harry F. Heiligenthal at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Burlington. Their three sons were born in Burlington, where the family lived until 1969. Eventually, the family made their home in Rogers, where they lived since 1976. Along with being a full-time wife and mother, Shirley was the office manager half of the team that was "Harry's Home Service", the very successful appliance repair business that served NW Arkansas for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Charlotte Heiligenthal and great granddaughter, Olive. Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Harry F. Heiligenthal, brother, David (Kathy) Thate of Burlington, sons Harry Jr. "Will" (Karen) Heiligenthal of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Michael Heiligenthal of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Joel (Kerrie) Heiligenthal of Rogers, grandchildren, Lindsay Seim, Andrew Heiligenthal, Peter Heiligenthal, Christa Akindumila, Courtney Heiligenthal and Luke Heiligenthal, twelve delightful great grandchildren and her cherished nieces and nephews, Mark, Dale, Lois, Gary, Jim, Robin, Julie, Sarah, Amanda, Marilyn, Joyce and Shirley, who all held a special place in her heart. Shirley's kindness and deep Christian faith touched all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by family and friends in Burlington and Rogers.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a Rosary will be said at 11:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass will take place at 12:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1416 W Poplar, Rogers, Arkansas 72756. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm. Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Benton County Memorial Park with a memorial service to follow at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas.
