Stuart R. McCormick, age 87 of Bella Vista, passed away July 15, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. Stuart was born December 6, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas to parents Harvey Claire McCormick and Alice Rohre McCormick. As a young man, Stuart enlisted in the United States Navy serving for three years at the end of World War II. He later received his Bachelors Degree from Texas A&M University. After college, Stuart went to work for the U.S. Forrest Service working in wildlife and range management. He spent many years working in the Plumas National Forrest of Northern California, before retiring. On January 10, 1979, Stuart was united in marriage to Francis M. Garrett at Garden Grove, California. They enjoyed many years together. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Frances of the home; daughters, Shonet Marshall of Bella Vista and Jackie Rasmussen of Lakewood, Colorado; granddaughters, Nicole Collier of Bella Vista, Charlene and Stephanie Rasmussen of Lakewood, Colorado and host of other relatives and friends. No services are planned for Mr. McCormick. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
