Obituary

Terry Dwight Cooper, 77, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away at home on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born on May 9, 1947, in Winfield, Kansas, to the late John and Mary Bishop Cooper. Terry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross for his service. On July 2, 1971, Terry married the love of his life, Nancy McCaffrey, in Wichita, Kansas. Together, they shared fifty-three years of love and memories. Terry spent much of his career working in the oil industry, following in the footsteps of his family. His work took him around the globe, allowing him to live and travel to fascinating places, including St. Petersburg, Russia, and Iran, where he spent eighteen months. After leaving the oil industry, Terry transitioned to a career in the medical field as a sleep technician. He was proud of this career change and the impact he made in helping others. Terry had a passion for model trains, spending countless hours building intricate cityscapes and working on his collection. When he wasn't immersed in his train hobby, he could often be found on the golf course, enjoying music from Coldplay, Moody Blues, or his favorite jazz artists. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Tyrus Cooper.

Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Cooper; two sons, Ian Cooper and his wife, Andreia, of Rogers, Arkansas, and Jon Cooper of Pittsburg, Kansas; his grandchildren, Zachary Cooper, Benjamin Cooper, Josiah Cooper, and Amelia Cooper; brother, Monty Cooper of Blackwell, Oklahoma.
