Obituary

Tracey Lynn Scott, 67, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born February 10, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Mary Carter and the late Horace Collins. Born and raised in New Orleans, Tracey lived a strong and loving life, raising three sons and blessing Heaven with an angel of her own.

Tracey was an accomplished and published writer. She proudly served six years in the United States Army National Guard and believed deeply in her country, her faith, and her children. Selfless to the very end, she gave all of herself to those she loved and never once asked for anything in return. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angel Lynn Scott; sister, Sheila Brisson; father-in-law, Donald Rasmussen; and mother-in-law, Janet Hankins.

She is survived by her husband, William Scott, Sr.; sons, Mitchell Dowless and his wife, Danielle, Preston Dowless, and William Scott, Jr.; grandchildren, Bella, Jesslyn, Ariel, Roland and Gunner; mother, Mary Carter; brother, Scott Collins; sisters, Lori Bass and Regina Wilkerson and her husband, Sonny; brother-in-law, Terry Brisson; brother-in-law, Robert Scott and his wife, Jennifer; sister-in-law, Jennifer Williams and her husband, TJ; nieces, Chasity, Courtney, Karina, Jessie, Kayla, Nala, and Joselyn; nephews, Heath and his wife, Tonya, Daniel, Thad, Hayden, Logan, Donald, and John; great-nephews, Austin and Jaxson; great-nieces, Sydney, Ashlynn, Brooklynn, Charlotte, Ryleigh and Lainey; along with many other beloved family and friends.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
