Verdie Lee Ward, age 63 of Prairie Grove, and formerly of Conway, Arkansas passed away February 17, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Verdie was born January 20, 1948 at Brinkley, Arkansas to parents Harry Ward and Ethel Simpson Ward. On September 10, 1965 Verdie and Evelyn Carter were united in marriage at Wynne, Arkansas. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage. Verdie worked as a welder in both the Wheatley and Conway areas. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Verdie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Howard Ward and father in law, Dub Carter. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Ward of Prairie Grove; sons and spouses, Blaine (Mary) Ward and Carter (Courtney) Ward of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; daughters, Shannon Wyatt and Shea (Heath) Riggin of Prairie Grove, Amy (Bobbi) Roberts of Conway, Arkansas; brothers and spouses, Leroy Ward and Rayford (Ruth) Ward of Colt, Dwight (Donna) Ward and Leon (Advada) Ward of Carlisle, Eugene (Stella) Ward of Marion, Benny (Melvalene) Ward of Heber Springs, Jerry (Candy) Ward of Morgan, Chris (Melissa) Ward of Forrest City; sisters and spouses, Francis Walker of Carlisle, Nancy (Jimmy) Henard of Heber Springs, Brenda (Gary) Flynn of Greers Ferry; mother in law, Margaret Carter of Fayetteville; sister in law, Regenia Good of Rogers; 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Memorial Services are set for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 26, 2011 at New Life Covenant Church, 146 North Neal Street, Prairie Grove, Ar.
