Obituary

Virginia Sue (Johnson) Jones Hudson, 85, of Rogers, Arkansas, entered the arms of Jesus on September 1, 2025. She was born June 23, 1940, in Wayne, Oklahoma to the late Claude Willis and Dorthy Eula McCurley Johnson.  She lived a life known for kindness, generosity and unwavering love for family and friends.  Sue was a cherished mom, mamaw, wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend whose warmth touched the lives of many.  Throughout her life, Sue was known for bringing family together, enjoying the outdoors, her creativity, and her great love for dogs. She enjoyed boating with her family, and she was an avid skier up until her late 60's. She loved gardening.  Her yard was full of roses and other flowers and plants. She was always ready to shop at flea markets and could be sure to find something that she "needed."  Sue enjoyed reading books (especially romance novels), as well as sewing, making jewelry, creating floral arrangements and doing fun things like painting t-shirts with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her family is most appreciative of her love of Jesus Christ, her Savior and Lord. She was a Godly example of Christianity to all who knew her. She raised her sons to know the Lord. Sue was the perfect example of a "Proverbs 31 Wife of Noble Character." "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her." (Proverbs 31:25-28) Friends and family will remember Sue for her sense of witty humor, compassion, resilience (some might call it stubbornness!), colorful style and her love of a little"bling."  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Jones; her second husband, Jim Hudson; brother, Jerry (Marlene) Johnson; sister, Jean (Richard) Hartgaves.

She is survived by two sons, Steve (Terri) Jones, Scott (Belva) Jones;  brother, Sam (Carol Ann) Johnson; three grandchildren, Tabitha (Jeff) Osborn, Dylan Jones and Hunter (Megan) Jones; five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Gibson and Gentry Osborn, Millie and Delilah Jones, all of whom she doted on; sister-in-law Bettye (Vincent) Smith; four stepsons, Ronnie (Janet) Hudson, Mark and Danny Hudson, Clint (Becky) Hudson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, at Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Wes Flaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.  All who knew and loved Sue are welcome to attend.  Pallbearers will be Steve Jones, Scott Jones, Dylan Jones, Hunter Jones, Jeff Osborn, Gavin Osborn and Gibson Osborn.

Sue will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She will live on in our hearts and in the cherished memories we hold, and we celebrate her homecoming, knowing we will see her again in Heaven.
