Yong Ja Barnes, age 82 of Elkins and formerly of El Paso passed away Dec. 13, 2013. Yong Ja was born March 3, 1931 in Taegu, Korea. She was united in marriage to Percy Lee Barnes and they enjoyed many years together. Yong Ja worked as a homemaker and was a great support to her family and husband who advanced to the rank of Sgt. Major in the United States Army. Her greatest joy was her family and a love of gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Lee Barnes and her parents. She is survived by her sons, Raymond Barnes and wife Meloney of Elkins and Louis Barnes of Elkins; daughter, Janice Barnes of Austin, Texas, and three grandchildren, Raymond L. Barnes of Louisiana, Kathleen J. Zampino of New Jersey and Christopher Bailey of Fayetteville. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.
