Zola Patricia Houston Golab Godfrey, 73, of Grove, Oklahoma known to most as "Pat" or "Zola" passed away at her home in Grove, Oklahoma, July 4, 2020. She was previously a long time resident of West Fork, Arkansas. Zola was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Dewey Houston and Ila Tarnell Cagle Houston, as well as two brothers, Samuel D. Houston, Jr. and Phoenix L. Houston, and two sisters, Totsy Virginia Garriott and Hedi Houston Brewer. Zola was one of nine siblings, Sam "Dee", Billy "Bill", Herschal, Totsy, Mary, Hedi, Phoenix, and Judy. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Hardin of Elkins, Judy Houston of Grove, Oklahoma, and two brothers, Bill Houston of Avinger, Texas, and Herschal Houston of Farmington. Children, Patty Lampman and her husband Scott of Elizabeth, Colorado; Mark Golab and his wife Jamie of Fayetteville, Sarah Smith and her husband Derek of Springdale. The joys of her life were her three grandchildren Audrey VanGorder of Phoenix, AZ, Jackson and Camden Golab of Fayetteville, AR. Zola lived in Northwest Arkansas most of her life and retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as a USDA Government Inspector. Zola was a strong and independent woman who fought for what was right and forgot about the rest. She loved being outside and working in her gardens, both flower and vegetable. She loved her dog Axle and her grandchildren. Cremation arrangements are under the direction Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Rogers, Arkansas.. At Zola's request there will be no memorial service.
