C. Boyce Howell, 75, of Rogers, AR died June 20, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, AR.
He was born in Valdosta, GA on August 31, 1935 to the late Samuel Boyce and Lucille (Buckels) Howell. He lived and worked most of his life in Florida, married to Joyce Evelyn Wilson for 45 years and served as a Social Worker Supervisor in Data Communications for the State of Florida in the Department of Health and Rehab Services. He was a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL with a degree in Economics and Business. He was a member of the Masons Havana Lodge, FL, Scottish Rite and Shriners for 26 years; and a member of the Rogers Ham Radio Club. Boyce moved with his family to Rogers, AR in 1997 and worked in communications for Walmart for 5 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Howell; son, Dale Howell and daughter Evelyn and husband Steve Rich of Rogers, AR; son Keith Howell of Phoenix, AZ; step son, Mike and wife Karen Amorelli of Culver City, CA; Paul Amorelli of Bakersfield, CA; step daughter Theresa and husband James Beasley of Rogers, AR; five grandsons, Anthony, Ben, Christopher and Matthew of Jacksonville, FL; and John of Pheonix, AZ; and eight step grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Bland Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers, AR, serving on the Church Council representing UMCOR in disaster preparedness and as a delegate to the annual Conference for two years.
A memorial service will be held at Bland Chapel at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 22, 2011. A graveside service will be held in Jasper, FL at a later date.
